I have some SATAII cables that I'm using here, but they're bigger than my SATAII cables, and they can't be hidden as well either...are there really any difference between SATAII and SATAI cables, because they are really similar...?

non performance wise, really the only differance that i can tell is that SATA 2 cables tend to have clips

My SATAII cables don't have clips either...I got these:

I might just take them out, and replace them with the one DFI comes with, since they are less bulkey, and can be hidden easier...thanks for the help and quick reply AsphyxiA. I won't have to reconfigure my RAID Array do I?

Hell yeah! The Silverstone ones are thick as hell, and can't be manuvered well...right now I have my 2 WD 80GB SATA3GB/s HDD in the 3.5" floppy area, with no cooling, do you think it'll be okay there?

no difference the cables are the same.
SATA 1 transfer rate is 1.5Gb/s and SATA 2 is 3Gb/s

well it all depends on how intensivley you use them in my setup i have dual WD 120GB IDE drives in the floppy bay and i havent seen either one really heat up any but i do see that you have a stripped raid config. i personally dont use these (i have my fears;) ) but since you are using one( especially raid 0), you might want to take any precaution possible to keep data from being corrupt. but if you have had them like this and have seen no problems why not keep them that way? BTW do you have any pics of your system?

You can't use SATAII cables on a SATAI harddrive and vise versa. Or your gonna mess up your transfer rate.

dude there is no diffrance between these cables! I have tried "supposed" sata 2 cables on sata 1 hard drives and they work fine. There really is no reason to buy new cables since almost every board out there that supports at least sata 1 came with a cable. The transfer rate is decided by the drive itself not the cable. That would be like saying that the standard IDE cable can only get to ATA 100 but AWeSOMTACUALR BEST BUY IDE cables get ID ATA 120. it's all a clever ploy to try to get unknowledgable or dumb shits who have to be on the cutting edge every single month and own like 4 different video cards each one of them only being used for 30 minutes to play QUAKE 3 and surf the net to find the next best thing. I only recently found this fact out about the cables. Plus why is it so hard to come across a good cheapy SATA 2 cable? Did you think of that one?

It's just warm, not hot...so I think it's ok....but soon, in about a month I might be adding 2 more WD 80GB SATAII HDDs to my RAID 0 array, so then I might have to move it all down to the HD bay so it can be cooled by my fan...

Do I have to re-install XP Pro again if I'm adding 2 HDDs to my array?

that im not so sure about, i actually know very little about RAID, but when you do get those new hardrives, you might want to think about putting 1 or both of the new ones in open DVD slot spaces

    Why?

What if I just put all 4 on the Hard Drive bay?
