Do you use ad blocker on TPU?

I was until today. Occasion for bringing this up was this old article. It really made me think about it. I started using ad block program fairly recently and I was extatic how awesome the internet can be, without ads. But when I saw this, I was like....yeah I do give a crap about TPU. It's the only tech web site I am visitng on a daily basis (to say the least). Anyway, so do you use ad blocker on TPU (traitors) or you are supporting by adding it to the whitelist of your adblock (and then make a backup, so when you fresh install, you can keep your settings? a.k.a really going through all this trouble to help up the cause)???

Some sites go overboard with ads. TPU isnt bad, but I hate like anandtech where it has the random text that gives a pop up ad that drives me crazy. I know you have to actually move your mouse over it, but I always seem to hit one or two.

I block ads on every site...although, if someone will put up an easy how-to on whitelisting a site with adblock plus, I'll toss TPU into it. I like this site and do have an interest in seeing it prosper.

I use ghostery and disconnect, and block the facebook and twitter stuff, but I leave DND off for TPU

Since TPU's ads are noninvasive and minimally annoying I allow them. It's a nice respite from sites such as Tom's Hardware where on ocassion 50% of the viewable page area is ads and of course the ever-so-annoying full page ads that you have to click out of.

I'm to busy looking at the forums or reading all the news posted on the main page so i don't even notice the ads on here.

I do use addblock but disable it for techpowerup.

I used to use Tom's a lot, "way back", when it wasn't so commercial, at least to my novice eyes. But I haven't gone there in almost a year, and just as long the time before. If it turns up in my never-ending video card searches, I usually just ignore it, and go to the next one...

Meh. I don't think anyone's being seriously accused of being a traitor. Just a question of rather or not a person takes two minutes to allow the site we use to draw in a meager few pennies based on some extremely non-intrusive ads.

Kind of like where someone goes to the local High School car wash, where they're taking "donations" for their senior trip, and either gives them a few dollars for their efforts, or takes the cheap way out and saying "Hey, donations are optional, right?" Sure, a person wouldn't be a "traitor" for not giving them a donation. Their fault for calling it a "donation", amirite?

I have to be honest. When I first looked at the post, I though "Aw, crap... what a heel. I've been running these 'blockers', and hadn't paid a bit of attention to whether I had TPU on the whitelist." Went to check my addons, and didn't spot much besides the facebook and twitter junk, but still didn't see any ads. Went out to the main site (techpowerup.com), and saw an ad or two from NewEgg, and realized that Wizz wasn't really running any ads in the forum post pages, just on the front side, so I was ok, and breathed a sigh. Also made a note to myself, to drop by the main page every day or so, just to get an ad-click
