Driver keep crashed in game. Is my GTX780 dead?

My Inno3D iChill GeForce GTX 780 HerculeZ X3 recently has it driver crashed during game like Armored Warfare, Fallout 4 and World of Tanks. I have cleaned the fans, replaced the thermal paste and downgraded to previous driver version but the situation remains unchanged.

My friend who work in large PC component retail said it is the sign that a GPU dies. I just want to re-confirm here.

You use DDU to scrub away the old drivers to install the new ones? Reinstall the game? Downclock the GPU?

Just cause he works in a PC store don't mean he knows anything, Turn down after burner or what eva you got it jack to the sky with.

My psu is an antec TP-750C.
I dont think it will cause any issue.

Notice my gpu clock is over 1000mhz, will use the afterburner to make sure it remains factory value.

The friend I mentioned above does not have any direct benefit if I choose to buy a new gpu. He is no longer in saleman level and currently work in another city. He even said not to buy 1080 and wait for 1080Ti

Telling someone to wait for a GPU doesn't make them a god in the hardware world. Did you do everything i mentioned or just ddu?

You're right that's why I am here to ask.
I just DDU and downgrade the driver to 344.xx. The driver still crashed

IIRC, 1000Mhz is pretty high for a 780. Definately take it back to stock and try there.

Also, 347.88 was a super spectacular driver for Kepler cards.

Hopefully it is some driver messup. At least I want to have the card alive until 1080Ti release

If you can't fix it by normal means, then try baking it. 400F for 10 mins resurrected a 660ti I had laying around that couldn't even load the driver. I stressed it for hours without issue.

The first time, I baked at 385 and it could load the driver, but couldn't be stressed at all. It would just crash the driver over and over.

Hi, I have already used afterburner but it does not help. My GPU driver complete crashed and windows unable to recognise the GPU until I updated the GeForce software

OK, I see no mention of moving slots. Can you move the GPU to another PCIe slot? It's possible that slot is dead, and it woild be nice to eliminate that possibility.

Just make sure power is off first.

If it still runs, use GPU-z to check voltages etc, and HWMonitor to see temps.

This problem existed before the new board? Again, I am asking what might be obvious questions because a new board does not mean the slot works, and we do not have all the information.
