Not a joke, but not mine. A co-worker dropped his iTouch 16GB Gen I into the toilet this morning and it's dead. The toilet was "clean" :)

I looked at it and don't see any way to take it apart... advised him to set it somewhere warm for the time being. Then I washed my hands

    Any advice?

Perhaps they're trying to return from whence they came,

If you get a chance, can you find out if it ended up well?

Yes, that's the issue, Can't see anyway to rip it apart.

I had a phone drop in the tub, took it apart and set on radiator, worked fine after day 2.

Put it in the fridge for a couple day's, it should pull the moisture out of the unit.

My biggest fear while in the toilet is dropping my ipod or phone down the shiter. Especially after i've used it.

My son threw my wife's iPhone into the tub a few days ago. I took it all apart. Still isn't working though. I think the battery fried.

Telling ya...the fridge..shit work's all the time. Leave it in for a few day's and as long as the battery hasn't sparked it, thing should power right up!

    "I touch toilet"

    Hmmm...

Anyway, water is bad for electronics, don't turn it on until it's completely dry and perhaps you're lucky. Why were you holding it on the toilet in the first place?

I would probably use iPods as toilet paper if I was Bill Gates...

Wasn't me, a co-worker. He had it on the vanity, turned and bumped it. Sploosh!

    This thread is rather amusing.

I dropped my W810i in a cup of tea at college (how British of me ), took the battery out, memory card out and left it on a radiator for 2 days - my dads using it to this day, the only thing that doesnt work is the memory card slot. Not bad after a dip in scolding hot tea :D I took the opportunity whilst it was "being ressurected" to buy myself a BlackBerry too - everyones a winner :toast:
