So my Gigabyte 965 DQ6 motherboard has the "Crazy Cool" plate on the back making it impossible to use the Pro Mount for the FuZion v2. I don't want to take off the plate.

So I put the Universal Mount on the waterblock and it looks like it'll fit - it's got holes for the 775 socket, and clearances look good. It uses nylon washers to brace/connect to the PCB, and has the plus of using thumb screws for tightening.

The only drawback seems to be the loss of the Pro Mount backplate.

Anyone use the Universal Mount? Any drawbacks to it? It certainly ain't as pretty as the Pro Mount.

The only issue with the universal mount is possible warping, if you tighten it down to tightly. It sucks that you can't use the pro mount. I notice 2c difference b/t the universal and pro mount.

    Sasqui says thanks.

Hmmm... I can use it, just need to take off the copper backplate on the motherboard, but therein losing some cooling capacity. Which is better...?

I guess I've got some homework to do. I'm pretty sure I can remove the plate even after installing the motherboard because of the huge cut-out in the HAF case :)

You are better off with the pro mount, trust me on this.
