Yea but isn't the VMWare player that allows video acceleration paid only?

i call that the 'black hole' of PC games, too new for dos, too old for proper gpu acceleration, turns into a real mess

i have a win2k that i could use, other people arent as lucky

been meaning to look up the vmware acceleration for a while now, might be promising, we already have people doing 3dfx/glide+dosbox/win for years

also there might be user mods/hacks/known good driver versions for some of these old games, like crimson skies..... which i'm having trouble finding the link, looks like someone else attempted their own fix http://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/1inr2w/does_anyone_here_remember_crimson_skies_i_just/

The free VMWare Player allows 3D Hardware acceleration. It isn't great, but t works well with older games.
