This is just a friendly reminder that live or die is obviously talking about home movies he recorded himself and wants to convert over to DVD format so that his whole family can enjoy watching them.

Talk of piracy or copyrighted material will not be allowed.

I'm pretty sure nero has multicore support, but as its rather bloaty/expensive i'd wait and see a list of suggestions before jumping to it.

Or you could try softwares which use the graphics card for conversion of video's. I know ATI provides it for free.

put your GTX280 to good use... grab yourself Badaboom from Nvidia to convert via your GFX card.

well i sometimes record stuff from the tv using my wintv nova but if i convert them to say a dvd and someone else watches them, i would by converting them have commited a criminal offence (sorry thats the law) although i have to agree that nero can do things pretty good (without lipsynching going wrong) i can't recommend anything else as most if not all are dodgy companys with dodgy copyright infringement tickling parts ;)

If the beta drivers support CUDA it should work. Just try it with whatever setup you have now.
