E8400 Orthos stable @ 4.5Ghz(500FSB) yet ...

    ... my winxp keeps booting into classic style, and I am unable to change it back to winxp style.

    For the rest, system is perfectly stable (9+ hours on Orthos, 3D2006 and aquamark)

    I'm at a loss ...

    If it was ever unstable while you were ironing things out it's possible a file was corrupted.

    you can try system restore or you may have to to a repair

    Well, that's the strange thing, lowering the FSB to 475 or below fixes the problem ... untill I go back to 500, then I'm back to the classic style.

    Totally puzzled here. You'd think a system that can run a 3hr 5000 unit supcom session would be able to render the winxp interface.

    EDIT: using a custom interface would be a good idea, I'm not that attached to the winxp interface anyway ;)

    Prime stability or Orthos isn't bullet proof IMO. Your problem proves this.
