I'm going back to college this fall and I have been looking at text book prices and I'm currently wondering if a ebook reader is actually a good investment and not just a cool gadget. The cheapest i can find my English classes' books are for around $50, used, combined, so i figure if each semester i can save $50 on book costs by getting them from feedbooks.com, manybooks.net, or other sources that a $200 ebook reader will pay for itself in just a few years. My only concern is that i'm thinking about being a computer hardware engineer and i will only have 1 or 2 English classes in the college layout i'm in so i'm not sure if the savings will carry over. I was wondering what your opinion is on this and if you can recommend any ebook readers. I'm currently eying a $185 kindle 1 from ebay or maybe an $200 sony prs-505 from amazon. Thanks in advance for your replies!
