I haven't had any experience with that particular motherboard/chipset but that is a WXGA(II)/WXGA+ resolution and pretty common nowadays. It should be supported, especially since that chipset is not that old.

In my own experience Vista can be a pain when it comes to available monitor resolutions. It will many times override driver presets/limits and block out any resolutions, refresh rates, and color depths it deems unacceptable. Sometimes even when certain resolutions, refresh rates, and color depths are doable on the hardware level. And unlike previous versions of Windows, under Vista it is hard to work around some of those limitations, especially if dealing with older hardware or custom monitor/VGA drivers.
