i wish someone could mod the UI (which has been done, but not quite to my liking) and the combat to something less clumsy so i could get back into this.

I'm using SkyUI. It's decent enough. Get used to smashing E (select), R (craft), and Y (confirm crafting) though. Like the vanilla UI, it also slows down noticeably on chests full of books.

Waking up an old thread.... a Mod that took 3 1/2 years :)

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/74638/?

Recently got back into the game purely for this mod. It's not as massive as I expected, but definitely makes the game feel a bit more alive (such as the lost daedric god's dog quest, who proceeds to slaughter an entire coven of vampires leaving you to catch up). Not using too many mods myself, just unofficial legendary patch, resolution patch, 2K textures, Holds, and a few little additions (lockpick visual aid, unread books glow, better embers, dragonpriest quest markers, and the Parthurnax fix).

Even though the game has major flaws, still really enjoying my dozenth playthrough.

I really love Skyrim without modes to tell you the truth. I have 400 hours of just vanilla Skyrim i don't know why but i love the feeling of just playing vanilla.

I'm planning to start a playthrough again soon, with tons of mods, is this mod (Holds The City Overhaul) compatible with the vanilla quests?

Yes it is or though it does add some little villages it shouldn't interfere with Vanilla quests as all the usual NPC's are present

Cant wait for the new Elder Scrolls.. I guess I will have to do yet ANOTHER run through of Skyrim to fill the void in the meantime.. I only just finished playing another Morrowind run through. Any talk on what the next installment will be?

No talk at all, but I wouldn't expect any rumours (let alone announcements) for at least two years.

I'd say one more year and we'll know something. It's been ~4.5 years since the release of Skyrim, and since Daggerfall, Bethesda has managed to keep about 5 years between each title. Daggerfall released in 1996, Morrowind in 2002 (6 years later), Oblivion in 2006 (4 years later), and Skyrim in 2011 (5 years later). 2017 seems a fair guess at a release date or at least announcement.

ESO in 2015? I think it will be a bit longer before we see the next title, perhaps 2018.

For the next 2 years they still have to milk DLC for Fallout 4, prepare for release of Dishonored 2 and accompanied DLC, get Battlecry past the beta stage, and also [if rumors are true] a sequel to Wolfenstein: TNO. Even with all the recently-acquired labor they cannot make this much work without turning into a cookie-cutter/stamp-machine game publisher.

ESO doesn't really count...it was not a Bethesda Studios game.

Exactly, it was Zenimax.
My guess is that the remaining DLCs for FO4 are mostly done, just going through some final polishing and testing, and waiting for a good time to drop each.
This is also a bit beside the fact, as Bethesda Studios actually does a decent job of splitting up resources. FO3 came out in 2008 and New Vegas in 2010, not to mention their respective DLCs, in between Oblivion and Skyrim, and there was still exactly 5 years between Oblivion and Skyrim.
Also worth noting is that Bethesda is not the developer for the Dishonored series, simply publisher, same with Wolfenstein and DOOM.

Exactly, that's why I mentioned hired labor.

Here's another observation:
When it comes to Betheda Game Studios tiltes, then between Morrowind and Fallout 4 we have almost consistend 2.5-3 year spacing. So if they follow the same schedule, it is still going to be late 2017 - early 2018.
New Vegas was developed by Obsidian and following the same logic - does not really count (even though it is a separate game I personally perceive it as very big and kinda boring DLC, hence I played it only in 2015).

So we are on the same page then: in the next year we should have an announced release date or at the very least, an announcement for the game. I would agree that late 2017/early 2018 would make sense for a release date, probably late 2017 in time for the holidays.

Oh wow....I'm the exact opposite. I felt NV was much better done on every single parameter than FO3, and definately far fewer bugs. It also felt much more in line with the original Fallout titles.

It's ok, we all like different things, I just thought those statements were interesting. :)

NV (with all its DLC) had many improvements due to being a newer game. Base game wise, i enjoyed Fo3 much more.

We need a new elder scrolls more than a new fallout :p

XMass sounds like a good time. I'd really hope they could make it by then, but would'nt mind waiting another year to get a better game.

The engine was definitely improved - I am still unable to run FO3 without constant crashes, while New Vegas was smooth and fluid. I was talking about a quality over quantity: in new vegas we get a vast expanse of the wasteland, which is absolutely wasted (empty or repetitive or does not fit into environment, too much backtracking). I liked the overall design and environment in Old World Blues DLC, but the quest line and story suck (get dat - bring it back, here's an exploding toaster for ya). Lonesome Road was basically a corridor shooter (very linear), but the environment was well made and the story about the carrier was decent. All that crap with Spartans I won't even talk about.

My favorite part of the main game was that huge factory with ghouls and an epic space rocket launch!

I think it mostly depends on whether they have separate teams for Fallout and TES stuff or not. I think they don't, or at least they didn't around the Fallout 3 time.
At the same time, Fallout 4 is done, development-wise, and they just work on some lousy ass DLCs and patches now, so something tells me most of the devs switched to the TES game in the past few months.
Still, probably two years.

I'm not sure I want it. Is it automatic? I've already got it modded fully the way I want it. I don't need anything screwing it up.

Hopefully it's like some other games' definitive editions have been, where you actually have to click to download and install.

EDIT: According to PC Gamer, it appears Todd says PC gamers will be "eligible". I'm going to interpret this for the time being to mean it won't be forced on me.

I have 255 mods running perfectly stable. I'm using ENB not for the graphics, but just to run the graphical mods (that are not in that 255) so that game engine "acts" like it is 64 bit and runs smoothly (it forces the graphics tectures to load only into the VRAM, instead of both RAM & VRAM, as the Skyrim engine likes to do.

Anyway, I'm loathe to give that up, and glad this will be optional!

What's special edition? :confused::confused:
I hope it does not come with additional achievements, cause I don't want to sacrifice another month of my life to get 100% again...

The trailer for the Special Edition. No there doesn't seem to be added achievements, mainly improved textures, improved shaders, mod support for consoles etc..
