As you can see tpu i need you help with a long overdue upgrade.

first off psu , my old 7500 watt cheapo off ebay did good with 33 amp for 2 years but its caps are whining bad when i boot.
+ i cant give my gtx 260 the volts it needs @0.95 stock clocks still stable but cant take stock volts or oc . :(

    i am planing on a phenom x4 925 or any x4 for around £100

so i need advice on a mobo for it and a psu . it will need to be am2+ as ddr3 is droping to slow for me. seen some 500-650watt psu's around £50-60 but not sure about mobo though?

someone in BST has an Asus M3A79T- Deluxe for sale. a board I still own and use daily. It currently runs a PII 940 and an old X800 for videos , but it ran XFire 4870s and 8GB ram no problem at all. A highly recommended AM2+(AM3 compat) board. from what I read it is compatible with the new 6 cores with a bios update.

    great board, find one!

understood - I just want to add that the last thing you want to cheap out on is a motherboard. I generally want the pricing to go from high to low
    GPU
    CPU
    Motherboard
    PSU
    etc...

that is in no way reflective of their importance, but rather average price. importance goes:
    motherboard
    psu
    cpu
    gpu
    ram
    etc...

my point is you want to get the best motherboard you can afford. a crap motherboard can turn a great system, into .... well crap. A good motherboard can make a powerful system run stable, and a low power system more powerful, and more stable. just find a good one is all.

Why not try Be Quiet instead of Basiq? I heard Be Quiet is a relatively unknown but still rather good brand. Or maybe StealthxStream

    Be Quiet 530W Pure Power PSU - 120mm Fan Dual 12V ...

As for processor, I would pony up a bit more and try to snag that 955BE at £118:

    Enjoy hunting:

@digibucc i here what your saying my m2a-vm is getting old and cant oc to good
but that gigabyte for £50 would still be a decent board for me as im only looking for maybe
3.8ghz . most boards at that price should be good n stable £100 or more doesnt make sence for me as i'm CHEAP.

Great price on the Stealthxstream! My vote is for that power supply. Would fit the bill quite nicely.
