haha yeah i disabled the turbocore, as i read a while back that if ur gonna overclock then turn it off. And i put the voltage to 1.4 like cdawall said and now its jumping between 1.419 and 1.425 so its little jumps.

thats perfectly normal on all motherboards. its the PWM fluctuating trying to keep the board at a stable voltage

See I told you he wanted to OC.

rofl he can still oc on that board!

Yes. Only time you will see huge jumps is when you are using turbo which you disabled.

Also be sure to disable cool and quiet.

rofl he can still oc on that board!

Not if he turned down the voltage he can't.

You wanna turn it off. cdawall I'm sure will agree

Basically it down clocks your CPU when its not under stress. It can cause performance delays. No self respecting geek has it on.

my chip had no issues in fact it is the highest clocked 790 series board it just takes a little more work

Blinov Listen nothing cdawall or I have said will hurt your system. We are both debating the quility of your board thats all. 1.4 is a normal voltage for the 1055 and 1090T. cdawall says you can OC with that voltage. I dissagree as the board you have was never designed for x6 chips. It was an after thought. But here is what I would do before you do anything.

1. Make sure you are 100% stable at stock. Do not overclock anything.
2. If everything is stable save up and get a better cooler.
3. OC is small steps. Don't get all crazy and go for 4Ghz. Stay humble.
4. Only up your voltage when you NEED TO. With your board I think you will need more then normal. This is where Cdawall and I dissagree.
5. Keep your timings tight and your temps down.

That should be it man.

its not on there i never posted a 790GX clock on there i will have to hunt one down. :slap: there is a GB 790GX which is in the same boat as his board. neither was released before the X6's were same as my CH3 790FX. the reason yours is a weak clocker is it does not have as good BIOS support as the DDR3 boards

Your RAM. AMD boards love tight timings. Makes things snappier.

Is that why the DDR3 was also at 1.47? Sounds like the same support to me.

doesn't matter what version its at yours is all chip updates :p

his ram looks like its got some oddly low timings....1600 6-6-6-20? Blinov can you post a link to your ram kit? Google is screaming hypers
