Hey all. My current BIOS version is F4. So, I went to gigabytes website and got F5,F6,F7 updates which came in .exe extensions. I extract to C: and run the F5 update and I get some error.

Is this because I have to update from a flash drive?

You do not need to sequentially update the BIOS, install F7 and be done with it (it will include all updates included in the previous updates). Its always a good idea to flash from the BIOS, I always flash GB from the BIOS :D

How do I flash the bios? Extract to flash drive and boot from it?

put the bios file in the root directory of your flash drive then boot into the bios. There should be an option listed at the bottom of the BIOS screen that says ' Smart Flash/M flash/ Q flash F9 ' press the F key it says to. Select the flash drive as the source and flash away :D
