Eurocom Adds GeForce GTX 680M as Option to Neptune 2.0 and Racer 2.0

    Eurocom Corporation, a developer of long lifespan, high performance, fully upgradable Notebooks and Mobile Workstations has launched the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M GPU with 1344 CUDA cores and 4GB GDDR5 graphics memory in its line of high performance Notebooks.

    Eurocom will be launching the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M in the EUROCOM Neptune 2.0 and Racer 2.0 high performance, fully upgradeable and customizable notebooks.

    NVIDIA GeFore GTX 680M graphics is manufactured on the newest 28nm kepler based GPU architecture from NVIDIA. New NVIDIA technology allows for improved performance, power efficiency and long battery life thanks to Optimus support. Featuring a long list of technologies such as Optimus, PhysX, CUDA, DirectX 11 and OpenCL, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M will offer next generation graphics performance for the EUROCOM Neptune 2.0 and Racer 2.0 notebook systems.

    With fully upgradable you mean you can upgrade the gpu too?

    If it's an MXM you can, if you can cool it and if the BIOS isn't locked.

    Why such slow GDDR5 on this? Is 5GHz and 6GHZ effective really that power-hungry?

    BE THANKFUL they didnt gimp it with GDDR3 like a few more powerful capable cards out there.... (though where they gimp cards with GDDR3, there is a GDDR5 varient available)

    There's never been a mobile flagship gimped with GDDR3. The last mobile flagship to use it was the GTX285M, a G92 variant that did not support GDDR5, and as such was not "gimped".
