Eurocom is proud to announce an addition to its already extensive list of multi vendor upgradeable VGA solutions with the introduction of NVIDIA’s new GeForce GTX 460M and GTX 470M MXM 3.0b based graphics modules. Eurocom currently supports both NVIDIA GeForce and Quadro as well as ATi Radeon Mobility in its notebooks in single and Dual (SLI or CrossFireX) operation.

The addition of the NVIDIA newest 4xxM family of GeForce GTX 460M and GeForce GTX 470M gives Eurocom customers an even greater choice of GPU’s to power their machines with a graphics card to fit every budget and every performance level. Eurocom will be supporting the GTX 460M and GTX 470M in single and Dual (SLI) configurations which will allow customers to intelligently scale graphics performance. NVIDIA SLI technology delivers up to twice the performance with 2 cards, compared to a single graphics solution.

Yet I'd take the superior, cheaper, more efficient, cooler Mobility Radeon HD 5870 over whatever NVIDIA has to offer.

Sorry NVIDIA, not this round :nutkick:

mmm 470M SLi sounds frikken potent, I'd take that any day over the single 480M, which as I remember is based of GF100.

470M SLi should perform and OC like a beast and trounce the 480M.

depends how much they have to underclock the cards to keep them within safe operating temperatures. the laptop is also most likely to be thick enough to stop a shell from a tank to encorporate all them noisey fans & heatpipes unless they've found out a way to microsize a phase change unit or something which bends the very fabric of space & time as we know it n sucks all the heat and hot air out & deposit it somewhere in oblivion.

remember also that GF104 runs a hec of a lot cooler than GF100, and theyve cut down another 48 sp's to 288, cut the memory bus down, and dropped the clocks a lot, which also wouldhave allowed them to lower the core voltage.

I think she'll work just fine in a laptop temp wise, no worse than a GTX280M IMO.

Mobility Radeon HD 5870 in CrossFire would perform much better than a GTX 480M while consuming less power.

yes but from the specs 470M SLi should perform better than 480M too, perhaps even Mobility 5870 CF, we'll have to wait and see.

Everyone seems to be more worried how the GPUs will perform, instead of the 3k price tag.

Oh, now I bet you have made mdsx1950 sad.
But heh, I tend to agree, double the power, half the light-show...
It's not meant for games eitherway, people just like to do the opposite...

I am baffled that they continue to build batteries into these things. I wonder how much they could save on size/weight/cost if they would just strip that component out and sell it as what the vast majority of them will exclusively be used for.
