EVGA 8800 GT Safe Operating Temperature?

    It's not unusual for a PSU to pump out a lot of heat under load. In Jonny Guru's review of your psu, he was measuring the exhaust air of the psu to be between 39-43C.

    case heat can and does come out the PSU, the ATX design was originally intended for the PSU to be the only case fan (history for you)


    as long as you can hold your hand on it, its not too hot.

    my psu is on the bottom of the case, and draws up cold air from under my computer case. And thus even under load it is only luke warm, almost borderline cold/warm ish.

    Thanks for your help, I looked at those links and I think I have decided on an OCZ 700GXS, it sounds like a good bet to me, it has 12v quad rails at 18A each and comes in at around £80 ($147). What do you think????

    The PSU you mention runs my systems just fine. (gameXstream and stealthXstream are identical except for the LED fans)
