I'll bring it down to 1.35 on next boot.

I just did, and after entering my password to login to Windows I get a BSOD. So I set it to 1.356 and things seem to be okay again.

Should I also disable Execute Disable Bit?

It looks for viruses that try to affect the instructions of your CPU. It's a very rare situation and can be avoided with an anti-virus. Disable it all (Virtualization/xD Bit etc.) to get the most out of your chip.

Sorry bout that. Trying to OC my 980 is turning out to be a lot more confusing to me than expected. It it doesn't help much when the only info and guides online are meant for the 980X where it seems to be as simply changing the multi to OC and the rest for the 970.

I thought I had a stable OC earlier today at 4.34GHz after running OCCT Linpack for an hour with no errors or BSOD's. But that soon turned out to be not the case and spent most of my day constantly resetting the CMOS.

My OC goal for this setup is at least 4.6GHz, would that be too high of a goal for it?

binge made that. good guy used to know him pretty well too. the guide is solid. it will give you a tad more then my crash course into x58 clocking. after youve read through it we will play with some of the more advanced stuff. I figure if you read this on your own and i just clarify it will go alot faster then me teaching.

After setting my memory to their specs through the DRAM Ratio, my system has been running really stable on my Ci7 980 4.40GHz OC. I was able to run 3 hours of OCCT Linpack without any errors or BSOD's and even passed a 12 hour run on Prime95!

Any of my attemps to try and go over 4.40GHz has failed though, but I'm pretty content with 4.4.

Below are the settings that I modified in the BIOS to achieve my OC:

UPDATE: What I initially thought was stable isn't so stable after all.

After loosening my memory timings a tad, and playing around with the voltages, I have it pretty stable. I say "pretty" because at times after restarting, Windows would not recognize all 24GB of my memory. But I was able to run OCCT Linpack for 3 hours straight without any errors detected and even with a no error pass on Memtest86+. I was even able to run 3DMark11, 3DMark Vantage and 3DMark06 with no issues at all. But if I raise either the CPU VCore, CPU VTT or QPI PLL even a tad from where they are now, my system becomes completely unstable.

My current "pretty" stable settings are:

Try moving your dimm sticks around. I had a similar problem when I moved to six 2GB sticks until I swapped a couple of them around. Then it has always recognized all six. Usually it is the very last dimm that the BIOS will not pick up.

According to the guys over on the EVGA forums, I was told that being able to read all 24GB of my memory running at 2000MHz would be nearly NOT totally impossible. And the troubleshooting steps that they had me do, like setting the tRL to +2 and increasing memory low gap in the Memory Features section in my BIOS didn't help at all.

So I simply upped my CPU multiplier to 24×, lowered my BCLK to 183MHz and lowered my DRAM ratio to 2:10 [1333MHz (1833MHz actual)] and my system is 100% stable now with Windows consistently reading all 24GB of my memory.
