XFX started it and Evga is doing the same. Evga is starting its own reinbursement program for those who bought the Evga 2xx series when they first came out. All you have to do is follow a few steps.

  1. Must be a new purchase from an authorized EVGA reseller. Step-ups do not qualify.
  2. You have 14 days to register and upload a qualified invoice to claim your EVGA Bucks.
  3. Only customers who purhased the EVGA GTX 280 or GTX 260 at the full Manufactured Suggested Reatil Price (MSRP) will qualify for the Reimbursement Program.
  4. If between June 16th and July 7th you purchased an:
  • EVGA GTX 260 you will receive $75.00 in EVGA Bucks* or $60.00 Cash Back
  • EVGA GTX 280 you will receive $150.00 in EVGA Bucks* or $125.00 Cash Back

The only thing this doesn't cover is the Step-up program. I'm fine with that because I got the price cut anyway. I just hope to get the card by this weekend if not early next week. I have a itch to bench. :rockout:

I'm glad companies are doing this it's great for the customer, but it's kind of like, "Hey, we were trying to rip you off, but it looks like we got called out on it, so we'll fess up give you back some of your money." I know it's nvidia w/ the msrp's, but it's messed up really. :toast: to evga and xfx though, very good companies that keep getting better.

Hey cold are you down to even now w/ your step up? Like do you just have to pay shipping now, or is there still a difference?

wow nvidia is kind of messed up atm. is this fiasco their doing?

this is good of XFX / evga to do. i just wonder how they can afford to do it. if they're giving all that money back....is their a profit margin left? is nvidia supplementing their loss? if their is one...

those are pretty big pay backs

They won't even be making money when a card first comes out... Just like the counsel business... At first all it is is to make up the money for the development, then from that you will get your profit.. But, if you can't move your product, then where will you get that profit? When will be probably 4 years down the road....
