Vivendi has officially announced the porting of F.E.A.R. to the Xbox 360 console. The game is being ported by Day 1 Studios, and will include new single and multiplayer content. The game is scheduled for a fall 2006 release. Hopefully the developers will take advantage of the new Xbox's resources to recreate the kind of visual experience F.E.A.R. provided on a high end PC.

Cool, but BOOO! FEAR was for the PC, and it should stay there. I love it. For the XBOX360, i believe that it should be better graphically, but ports are usually bad...

NOT FAIR!!

I also think that it will look worse than the PC version.

That's great for the 360 owners, F.E.A.R. was a lot of fun, even if it was a one-time game (its really not worth a replay, in my opinion). My biggest concern is how well the controls will translate to the controller, seeing how many options there were.

Yeah, but I'm concerned with the leaning features, plus juggling the slow-mo with the melee combos, plus grenades and other inventory options. The more I think about it though, I can see it working out. I just don't want a cramp when trying to jump, slow down everything, kick some guy, then throw grenades.

I think it's going to work well. The average person will see nice gfx, and it seems like the kind of game that you could play just as well on a controller. Yes, it's a port, but it looks like alot of work is going into it. They're taking their time at least. Either way, I think it's one of those games that will feel right on a gamepad.

maybe not right.. but id say it would be more fun on console. every fps game deserves a mouse and keyboard first i think. and if people take there time to port it and make a new control scheme that uses the thumb sticks right. there all fun. i like morrowind on console cause i can hack and slash and leave when i want.. F.E.A.R. for console makes me wana sit back and relax. on the pc is scared the bejesus out of me.doom 3 startle, quake 4 startle.. fear.. freaky scared msot of the way threw... anyone second that?
