I'm guessing 3DMark06' is freezing at the popup window?
3DMark06' did not work with my HD4850 either until I found the updated direcpll.dll
I uploaded it in a thread here, just click on the link below.
http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?p=902372#post902372

Instructions on how to install it are in the zip.
Or you can just rename the original 3DMark06' direcpll.dll to direcpll_.dll but you will not be able to upload your score.

perhaps its not running at full PCI-E X16 mode... try running GPU-Z which will give you more information on the card and the PCI-E speed... this would bottleneck it drastically if it were set on lets say 1 or 4 etc...

gpu-z is a free utility availible for download on this website if you dont already know it.

thats probably why dude

also remember that your 3Dmark score will be mostly influenced by your CPU speed... if youre benching against dudes with intel setups and high clocks you not going to score close

you should be able to just copy and paste the screenshot of the score for everyone to see though, I wouldn't complain about performance in crysis...it is one of those games where it doesn't really matter what kind of sys you have it just laughs at you anyways,

I have a 4850 and in most games it handles it self pretty well, RAM will also affect games as well, I see you have looks like 2 gigs, but may want 4 you know,

and 4850 should go head to head with 8800gt, and should beat it, still would not use AA in a lot of games, AF yea give and take AA nah, AA takes up too much memory,

Focus, I would say make sure your drivers are all updated. You seem to be having problems other 4850 users are not having. When switching from Nvidia to ATi did you make sure your system was clean of all old Nvidia drivers?

yea i have no nvidia drivers on here...

i know what to do ..

if someone with the crysis demo and a 4850 could take a save game off of me run it .. load the save game and dont move when it loads just stay still and see what your fps is .. that would be super helpfull .. run it at 1280x1024 all settings high no aa or af

it would help me so much

heres the save game

I'll give it a whirl tonight.:) I haven't tried Crysis with just my 4850 yet. Also, you should try the 4850 with your Q6600. It will help a lot.

Did you download the update and follow the instructions?
Rename the original direcpll.dll to _direcpll.dll then place the updated driecpll.dll in the same folder in the 3DMark program files folder?

I am able to submit my scores otherwise I would not have been able to place my score in the HD4xxx 3DMark06/Vantage thread.

Oh well I don't know what you did wrong.
No big loss.
Since your card seems to be running slow for some strange reason.

You might have bad luck with ATi cards.
Just like things turned for the worse for me when I bought the 8800GT.

Better luck next time.

What res are you running GRID at?

You need to bit more specific.
At 1440 x 900 X4MSAA and everything as high as they can go, on Sanfransisco, with Pro Mucsle cars I'm getting 35-55fps avg 41fps.

Yokohama docks drift GP I'm getting 56-77fps avg 64fps I think.

On all the same settings as you .. on pro muscle , plymouth aar cuda car , san francisco , grand prix circuit , 1 lap , all american racers and my camera was normal behind my car .. and 1 lap .. and i started the bench as soon as i got in .. i got

2008-08-23 16:18:43 - GRID
Frames: 6744 - Time: 137417ms - Avg: 49.076 - Min: 40 - Max: 61

That seems ok .. but when i run crysis bench i have a few less fps than people with 4850s and on gears of war i have to play with all settings maxed in the game menu 1280x1024 but no AA and im allways at 40-62 fps (62 is max for that game) but when i turn on AA in CCC i drop to like 15-62 it goes crazy and goes all over the place in fps .. my fps seems ok in cod4 .. 1280x1024 all max 4xAA 16xAF just about any map with any amount of people in .. my fps will stay above 40 .. most of the time it stays above 60

So what do you think?

They might have badass quads or duals at 4 odd ghz thats why the might be getting more frames.
