Hello!
I am playing both games, but i would apprechiate to share which one you prefer the most?
Give reasons why...
I like fallout 3, because you can modify the stats and leveling up is more difficult. Even the game is much more difficult than borderlands, because since you start the game, going to megaton, a dog can game you over :(
But, it has its downsides and upsides too...
So pls people, help me have a better idea of both games.
Thank you!

I much prefer Fallout 3, I like the level system, the karma system, weapons, the general lack of glitches, amazing storyline, etc. Borderlands just didn't do it for me. :ohwell:

Fallout 3 is much more fun than borderlands IMO. More in depth, more hours of gameplay, and a whole bunch of mods.

Agreed. It seems much more personal than Borderlands. I've easily spent 150 hours on one run-through, just trying to get all the stuff. Plus that little singing robot in Borderlands makes me wanna rip an appendage off. :banghead:

If you love multiplayer, Borderlands. If you love single player, Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition. Borderlands single player has very little replay value.

I played through fallout 3, loved the game, had a story to it and can actually beat it in a reasonable amount of time if you want, or play through all the side missions. I played borderlands for a couple hours and hated the way it plays. You have to drive all the around the maps to get to the next one oh wait you spent 20 minutes in a car to find out you don't have enough "skill" points to proceed. Damn now you have to go back and pick an easier one.

I prefer Borderlands. Much more casual and a lot more action and fun. I've played both, but I definitely prefer Borderlands, especially because of multiplayer.

Fallout 3 FTW!!!

i won't knock Borderlands... it was a good game. enjoyed it emmensely.
and, like said before, if you need muliplayer Fallout can't help you.

however, when it comes to single player Bordelands was about 1/10 the game of Fallout3.
(and that is being very generous)

Fallout had MUCH more value (playtime vs cost),
FAR superior graphics,
entirely voiced -all the hundreds of NPC had something to say,
considerably deeper plot/story,
MUCH more territory to explore,
greater diversity of characters/monsters/areas/armor/,
Karma system (ie can be 'good' or 'bad' with unique story for each),
deeper leveling,
perk system,
hacking (computers, turrrets, safes, doors, etc),
companions (animales/monster/people),
hideout/homes that could be customized to suit your taste,
AI... though not perfect was vastly superior to Borderlands,
a living breathing world with an economy,
night vision and a stealth system,
factions (that would war with each other adding to realism/depth),
and one BIG word 'customizable'... once you start adding in the mods Borderlands is left WAY in the dark ages of design and depth. some of the top mods increase the depth of game but adding more perks, better karma system, more diverse creatures/npcs, a 'needs' system requiring sleep/food/water, realistic economics, better animations, better physics, more variety of weapons/armor/ammo/meds/clutter/etc, more missions, better hideouts, choice of landscapes/weather/sunsets, customizable night vision, etc etc etc etc.

sorry, again, won't knock borderlands because what it does is done well...
its a frivilous fun shooter set in a cartoon world with a LOT of cool weapons :rockout:

I like Borderlands, because I think its one of the most well crafted games out there. It has a simple point and click interface, and its a joy to play after a long day at school. Its not without its flaws though, for example the vehicles feels like it weighs next to nothing. But nothing beats a classic plint and shoot.

FO3 hands down, BL always felt like a 1/2 finished game with no story however if you can get a few friends to play BL there is a load of fun to be add.

BL some fun to be had in MP and SP forget it it sucks balls, Were fallout3 is great SP even more if you adventure but has no MP.

Well crafted seriously ?. It's only 1/2 a game if that

Fallout 3 here. Love the story line and level system. Just picked up the GOTY edition at my local Walmart for $35.

I found Fallout 3 with all DLC to be really short. They have huge wide open spaces that they could have used for more towns with more quests.

You could say Borderlands does too, but at least you have a hot armored dune buggy to drive around in. earlier this year they released another new dlc for borderlands that expands the whole game where as Fallout 3 is done with.

fallout 3 has better graphics, story line and is not so repetative. Borderlands is great cause its multiplayer. I own both and love both of them equally.

Borderlands is a lot more arcade-ish and a great multiplayer experience. However, there's almost no depth to it and playing it in single player is boring.
But playing the story mode in coop is great if you have friends playing with you at the same level.

Fallout 3, on the other hand, is one of the best FPRPGs ever (IMO).

I couldn't get into Fallout 3 at all when I played it on PS3- it was so disappointing to me. I have not played Borderlands, but I surely cannot rec Fallout3 to anyone.

Fallout 3 if you want a more intelligent game. It might not be as "high octane" as Borderlands, which reminds me of a pseudo RPG/Serious Sam, but it's got such great qualities if you spend a good deal of time exploring.

That may be true, which is why I made it clear my exp was on PS3. I can tell you graphics wise (FPS specifically) the PS3 version was POOR

Looks aside, the story seemed to take forever to ramp up and I did not like the gameplay mechanics.

Fallout 3 Hands down.

Texture mod it and it looks even more amazing.

Its like a never ending game with new users made mods being released daily. Can't go wrong with that.

You've got action adventure rpg all in one game, what more do you want. Ohh I guess the MMO but :ohwell:. Maybe a mod will be out for that soon too hehe.

Fallout 3 was fun, but I grew tired of it. It is EPIC and everyone should play it, but I had a lot more fun with Borderlands + DLC. I suggest both as they both bring something good to the table. But if you have friends that can also get Borderlands, it increases substantially in fun...though I also enjoy the SP side of it. Fallout 3 is good, but the VATS system always annoyed me. To each their own, but really either way is a win, though Fallout 3 will give you more back with mods and what-not and so much to do and see with DLC's. If I had to choose I'd go Borderlands first for the fun factor and the lighter attitude and environment and it's uncanny ability to make fun of itself yet is a hoot to play, and when I wanted serious, I'd go Fallout 3. And really each game brings such a different experience to the table, if you don't play both you're missing out imo.

Fallout 3 is so easy, that it comes to a point, were if you don't have a rocket launcher.... game over :p
Anyway, i like fallout 3 much more. Borderlands is like animated, that is what i like from it. Firearms too. In the fallout 3 they did it wrong not going to put leveled armors or weapons
