Fan Damaged from Impact?

    i just a new member in techpowerup website,about pc i just know a little bit only,today i try to tighten my display card by the situition is the pc still on and unfortunately my hand was hit by the fan from display card and i am very worry whether it will damage the fan or not??:cry:and can you all tell me where can i download the gpu temperature monitored software,please.Thank you very much.

    If the fan looks and sounds like it always has, it should be fine. If it starts to click or vibrate your video card, it may be spinning uneven and is probably damaged.


    DON'T MESS WITH HARDWARE WHILE COMPUTER IS RUNNING.

    If the fan is still spinning then chances are it's ok. I hit my finger on an old school Thermaltake Dragon orb a long time ago, made me bleed. That thing was a monster @ 7000+rpm lol... it still worked fine though.

    Sucks hitting your fingers on fans doesn't it?

    EDIT: I mess with my hardware when the computer is running too :D but I don't install anything, I'm just moving things around or whatnot. I know it's stupid but meh.

    yeah, you should never mess with anything near a fan, or positioning of connectors.

    I move stuff too but not cards and not near fans, most of the time Im a shock trooper lol
