my 4770k will be here tomarrow

I plan on using my AC13 until I get a decent air cooler

iv got my 290x

and my gigabyte Z87x-UD3H arrived a few days ago.

the rest of my rig will just follow over

Im super pumped i havent been "upto date" in awhile and the smile on my face hurts those extra shifts pay off.

the bug question is did i f#$% up? were really close to DDR4 and a new socket did I jump the gun or is it the nerves talking?

Does it even matter with the specs?

Congratulations!

There is no right opinion about DDR4. It hasn't officially hit the market, and prices haven't been set. None of this even broaches the subject of it being a socket 2011? (lord knows what Intel is actually going to call socket 2011 for the 5xxx series processors) exclusive to begin with.

I'd say you're great with the 4770k, and have fun with it.

We really don't know anything about DDR4 we have only seen a demo in CES by adata it , they might come with the 2011 or if changed with the new extreme socket by intel they might also not come this year, it was said that it would come in late 2013 with the 2011 socket back in 2012. It was agood choice man.
Only if you wanted to wait for Maxwell but it's alright i believe.

Does anyone know if their is some kind of guide about the good steppings of the 4770? I know that pretty much all the previous chips have had them and as best as I understand haswell hasnt wowed too many people with its potential.
