Hey guys, I'm running a core 2 duo E6300 and I have an X1900XT 512 GPU, whenever I press the "Find Max Core" or the "Find Max Mem" button I crash :( I can supply with any necessary information, but is there some kind of setup that I need to perform before I can begin?

System specifications would realy help in finding solution to your problem. For starters what is the make/model of your PSU?

I'm running a core 2 duo E6300 at 3Ghz, 2 gigs of G.Skill PC2-6400 ram running 4-4-4-10 latencies. and A Saphire X1900XT 512 meg card.

My power supply is a 450 Watt Antec but It has a decent amperage on the 12 volt rail. I doubt that the power is the problem because it doen't even start the test, and without it I can get it up to 688 mhz core.

what do you call decent. That card needs a minimum of 22 amps on the 12v rail. Could also be a driver problem. What driver version are you using and what version of ATI tool?

Hello. I have this same problem.
I have a similar card. Before I continue, here are my specs:

Athlon 64 X2 4800+ @ 2.57ghz
Corsair XMS DDR 400 @ 234mhz
HIS ICEQ x1900xt 512mb
Thermaltake Toughpower, 700watt.
3 HD, 2 optical, SB Audigy, 5 case fans.
(Software: Winxppro, cat 7.2 w/ ATT)
(ATi Tools 0.26, Hotkey poller disabled...)

Ok. This powersupply, I am certain, is more than enough for this system. I could get away with a 500watt one if it was a decent ps...

Now the same thing happens to me; in ATiTool whenever I change core frequencies while in the 3D View, OR when I try to "Find Max Core," the system black screens immediately, and the system is not recoverable. I have a very similar problem with ATi Tray Tools, wherein I cannot change frequencies while in "Low Level" mode.

I cannot fathom what the problem is. I have used ATi tool on a 9600xt, 9800pro, g800gt, and this card. Only this card has caused any problems...

Help?
