I wouldn't count on any price drops due to lack of competition. If anything, prices will most likely go up since the closer we get to the hollidays the more demand is going to go up.
My prediction is they'll stay steady for the next two months, unless there is a torrent of availability, or NVidia pulls a rabbit out of their hat, pulling down demand for the ATi cards.
Originally, the 5850 was supposed to be $259 and the 5870 $379 if I recall correctly.
