yea i found a FireGL v5000 in the garbage is it any good...
I'd say it's about the equivilent of a x1600 or x1650... if it works properly, you can probably get $200 out of it.
Even though it's amoung the bottom-line of the FireGL series, those cards are designed more for workstation, 3D modeling, etc. Really solid cards, all the way around, and are known for delivering exceptional performance when it comes to gaming, etc.
I'd defi say keep it and see if it works, and how it stacks up against your current hardware.
One question for you...what were you doing digging for video cards in the garbage?
well all i have is either a geforce 6100 or x1550
well i was looking for my wallet.... and dont ask
damn... just what i need. wanna sell it?
What cant your two 3870's render
lol two 3850s lol i dont know if i do i know it would be 100% profit but it is a good card
it's for a friend that does CAD at his machine shop.
ok i will think about it just email me
i'd want to know that it works first.
post a pic of it
but if I were gonna reccomend you to do something with it I would say sell it on ebay, that card is not based off the X16XX series, its based off the Radeon X700 series and only supports PS/VS 2.0
How can you just find something like a FireGL in garbage?
Not even Paris Hilton would throw a FireGL in the garbage, either giveaway or sell but garbage
i found a box full of p4's in the trash one time. every single one of them worked. i sold them for $45 each and made like $300.
our local colleges throw away their computer stuff when they upgrade. i dug through the trase for 4 hours one day and got 14 dell 17" LCDs, 9 HP laser printers, 35 dell desktops, a dell XPS laptop that had a cracked screen(that's all that was wrong) 100's of dell mice and keyboards(usb and PS2) and a brand new mini fridge! one of the guys that works there actually helped me load my truck!
too bad in Jamaica someone still wants to sell u a 486 for the as new price ...
yea it works fine, i tried world in conflict at maximum and it did fine. i might keep it, also it was in a computer when i found it, dont know what was wrong with the rest of the computer
That cards £200 in the uk,nice find.
I'm not sure i'd want to have to convince any cops that happened to drive by that the stuff was actually in the trash...
The FireGL V5000 is identical to the x700 Pro.
Not a great card, but certainly good enough for moderate gaming.
i've found awesome thrown out hardware too.
I get 'dead' hardware a lot - whenever people buy rigs off me, i offer a discount (10% or so) for their old rig - i end up with a lot of ram, harddrives, and fans
2-3 systems later, i can build a new rig out of the parts... and make the money back.
fitseries3, yea i am going to sell it, it runs perfect, and has no physical damage.
ATI FireGL v5000, 256 mb GDDR3 ram (that is what PCMark says), PCIe x16, $250, i will pay for shipping. Only United States though.
crap... i was hoping for around the $100 range. thanks for the offer though. i bet you could get $250 on ebay really easy. good luck!
dang I wish I had a fireGL, these cards rock in 3dmax and maya
I think asking $250 is a little much. Even on ebay the FireGL v5100 only goes for the $150 range.
