I am about to do my first build and was hoping I could get some feedback on what I've selected. This will be used mostly for gaming. As far as my budget I would like to keep it under the $1,000 mark. Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Instead of 5770, get either 6850 (or 6870) or GTX 560 (or GTX 460 1gb)

Trust me, if you want to play at 1080p, you will need a better GPU than mere HD 5770.

However, HD5770 will serve you well still if you tone down graphic settings only slightly. You will probably spend about 50 ~ 70 more for a much better GPU.

After glancing at a few benchmark rankings it seems the 6850 is only slightly behind the 6870 but both are far better than the 5770. Since the 6850s are more reasonably price I was thinking of this card:

    MSI R6850 Cyclone PE/OC Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 $190

Yep, for as little as 30, you can get a much better GPU.

Since you've stated that you wish to keep a certain point for budget, I will not advise you to get a more expensive GPU, either 6850 or GTX 460 1gb will serve you well for next at least 2 years.

I'd personally recommend you 6850 since GTX 460 is now one generation older. The one you linked is a fine one.
    Nozoned says thanks.

Updated the list with the 6850 in it. Thanks for the feedback.
