Hi, i am building my own pc for the first time. And i would like to know if the parts i picked will make a good system.

I picked the following parts:
CPU: Intel i5 6600k

CPU Cooler: Scythe mugen 4

Motherboard: AsRock Z170 extreme 4

RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury HX426C15FBK2/16

GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G

SSD: Crucial BX100 250GB

HDD: Seagate 2TB HDD ST2000DM001

Case: Zalman Z11 PLUS HF1

Power Supply: Corsair CS650M

Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24F1ST

Screen: Asus VS247HR

Do some research on how to build a PC. It not just bolting parts together. If you damage parts it can be costly so do your research.

1. Why AMD? Intel has the latest boards and CPUs
2. You might put a little more though into the power supply. 600W is enough but you want quality here
3.There is no real world difference in 1866 from 1600 memory
4. What country do you live in? Netherlands? There are better monitors for the same price
5. What games do you primary play? Video editing?
7. Budget?

1. I chose AMD over Intel because if i were to replace this cpu i would want an intel i7, and those are a bit too expensive for me

4. Yeah, i live in the Netherlands. What monitors do you mean? It would be great if i could have a better one for the same price
5. GTA V + i am going to study programming
Budget will be € 1300 - 1350

Also, which version of windows do i buy?

I would suggest an unlocked i5, perfect for gaming and all else, why would you like to have an i7? Take a look here to see the difference between an i5 and an FX in your game of choice:

It doesn't really matter for what you need it for but it's your choice. I'm just saying Intel is simply better on all levels for not much more money.

Read my response again I said 600w is fine you just need a better unit. Not a lot of reviews on that PSU

Which windows is more of a personal choice. 10 would be mine

And just because it has 8 cores is a mistake many have made. Release date 10/2012

look at the rank on speed. i5 #2 the FX #137 But it your PC so not sure what the prices are where you live

So the intel i5 6600 would be better for programming as well?

If I were you I'd use nl.hardware.info to make your build, they have great reviews and you can compare different products by specifications, user reviews and average/lowest price across the biggest online hardware stores in the Netherlands. They also have user reviews for the online stores, so it's great for figuring out what store you want to order from as well. A great tool for figuring out your build

if i replaced the processor with the intel 6600k what motherboard (MSI prefered) would i need (about the same price}

Also the i5 uses much less power so less heat and you don't need to get the K model if your not going to overclock

Unfortunately all that's out are K models right now

Maybe an i5 4690 which requires a 1150 board

The 1151 board are kinda expensive as they are brand new

Looks good. Just be careful with the CPU pins they are very delicate.

8Gb is fine for gaming

No it comes with paste. Some might say that the paste that comes with it is not good. Don't listen to them its fine

Later if you want to change the paste Alcohol 90% or higher will work or the paste remover you posted. Just be careful of the pins

Are you located in the Netherlands? Because I see you mentioned euros as budget and you have Dutch in username. You have to realize that the prices on partpicker are for US (or whatever locale you are using) and are wastly different for the netherlands.

Edit: Nvm i just saw that you are in NL. Here is a config for 1300 euros (sorry tweakers can't seem to have a way to export a wish list). This leaves enough room in your budget if you want to get a 2nd 970, upgrade to single 980, get a bigger screen or an i7.

Did you already buy the parts? It's your PC and your money but my config is a lot better and it costs the same

• 50% faster GPU at 1080p
• 250 vs 120 GB SSD
• 3TB vs 2 TB HDD
• IPS business grade vs TN value grade screen

I never use one. Just touch the side of the case while working and I'm sure you will be fine.

I work on an obscene number of clients systems too. Probably should get one in my case, but in yours? Save the money.
