i want to build my own computer can anyone help me
Check out this thread: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=30822
And/or be a bit more specific. What will this computer be used for? Light, everyday stuff like email, internet, or gaming? Multimedia work? Photoshop? Music, etc.?
sorry for music internet school and making cd and maybe editing
Simple basic Pentium D processor with mobo. X1300 or Nvidia 8500. Xi-Fi professional sound card. 2X512MB DDR2 ram 533mhz
Editing what? Audio? Video? Both?
If you don't game, a motherboard with integrated graphics should suffice (while saving you money).
But with video editing you would need at least a gFx. And for the budget minded 8500 or upcoming ati 2300 would do. Workstation cards are too expensive X_x
Do we have a budget?
so what mother board an cpu should i use
Like GJSNeptune asked...what's your budget?
An Asus P5B and a core 2 duo E4300 or less. I know its not a pentium D system but it will work and prices are nice.
You could also go the way of the X2 Am2 series as prices for the procs and mobos are dirt cheap.
my budget is about 5/6 hundred just 4 da computer no moniter or anything
by the end of the summer the Q6600 quad core 2.4ghz CPU will be around $350 and that will be in your budget for the 5-$600 range.
you might say, why do i need a quad core for what i'm using the computer for, but it will be
a better investment long term (as if there is such a thing in computers lol) because your needs may change and you wont have to upgrade later. video editing will be faster too.
No, come July 22, the Q6600 is $266.
really! thats even better.
prices are so low now, my stuff off newegg last year cost me $300
1.motherboard is proably is most important part of this computer, something kind of deluxe edition board with 7.1 sound and recent onboard gfx (like 6100)
and good onboard lan etc. -$120
2.pentium d are cheap now but still can match athlon 64 espically with the price cuts on dual core X2 -$70
3. need at least 1gig of ram DDR2 .....cheap 2 gigs go for $100
4. 120gig harddrive at least -$50
5. case w/ psu - ? $50
