Heya, guys. I am looking for a good Flac -> Mp3 convertor.

Free or not does not matter. I will pay if I need to but I just want a good one backed by a proper company instead of shady ones I found from google search, so I am looking for personal opinions.

    a) download foobar
    b) and just follow this guide or this

I am using Multi frontend right now, settings:

    Codec: Lame
    Options: -V 0 --vbr-new -q 0

works prefectly for me, but hunting the bits down for the software to work takes a bit of effort.

i can relate to dbpoweramp nice program and supports HT but still, why convert flac to mp3?

i hope it's for portable devices only or else i will call it a shame.

It's for my car audio which can accept only MP3 through a USB device.

But then I am not too picky about audio and don't really care whether it's FLAC or Mp3 or whatever as long as the quality is above 192kb/s. But I do keep my favorite albums in FLAC format on my NAS. I just haven't had a reason to convert them to Mp3 until recently.

ah car radios, yeah they r so behind, but do like 320kbps vbr not cbr there is a difference, and if u turn up the volume enough depends on the speakers and radio u can clearly hear if it's low bitrate.

Of course, it matters. I am saying that I don't care the differences as long as compressed formats are of a certain quality.

That is exactly why I have to convert to MP3, my playlist won't fit on my 80GB Zune if it isn't converted to MP3, and I'm too cheap to buy a new one.

Yeah, I'm the same way, 192Kb/s VBR MP3 is what I use, sounds good enough for me most of the time.
