A friend of mine plays FSX quite often with VFR Photohraphic Scenery. He currently has an AMD 4800 X2, Asus A8N SLi M/B, 2gb 3200 ram and an x850xt pe 256mb (x800GTO2 flashed with XT Bios). The problem is that the game sturggles above 30fps, and that without all the eye candy. He has a seprate HDD for FSX which I think is SATA1. He runs XP PRO SP2 on a seprate HDD.

Does anyone have any ideas about where the bottle neck is, I think it may be the HDD and graphics card. Maybe a 512mb would be a better choice as it allows more data to be put through the gpu ...

    thanks

Before buying anything make sure the computer is in a good condition. meaning check for viruses and programs that take up processing power.
Defregmant the computer (or just the part with FSX on it will do)

yea it easily meets all those, it is virus and spyware free, and has very little else running.
