Ok, I can see them now if I disable Adblock Plus and I specifically allow checkm8.com in NoScript. Otherwise I see nothing, and that's how it's going to stay on my Firefox. :)

Damn, i have ads now. Thought i was immune.

I think there should be a requirement that only decent offers should be put on. Some are pretty poorly priced considering that no one here will make an impulse purchase.

Bah, same... geting ads now. If they have to be there, why after first post? Why not at the bottom of the page instead? And why the more expensice ones, like: Misco ASUS P5K - £85 inc VAT, when elsewhere, it's about £60? No-one will buy from the more expensive ones, so all the ads are really doing to me, and others, I'm sure, is being annoying and in the way. And the disable option in the User CP doesn't work.

These ads are really slowing down page loading times. Last night, it took 5-10x more time to load a page because the ads domain timed out. Atm, it is a bit slow about 2-3x more.

I also noticed this, it took me 5 reloads on one page because of the ads, I could get to where the ads are and then the page would stop.

No problems here, but like I say - adblock and noscript are stopping the ads getting through anyway. :)

I find it annoying as hell. I was just about to make a thread about this but apparenlty it has been done on purpose.

I vote for it to be removed.

Here is a link to an ad that I got. I can get an HD3870 for better performance at $270. Not only are they overcharging on old tech, but do I really want to trust this site with my bank numbers?

heres one solution that I will be using if the adds come backt o haunt me.. atm thier gone for me.

this is bring Wiz extra money to help the forums, he has all the right to do this and I for one am happy that hes getting extra money because he well deserves it.. he could be working for Nv or Ati but he choses to run TPU and make programs that everyone loves, free to use too :rockout:.

there were other ad blockers you could use mentioned on this page too. :toast:

Thats what our hardware site does. They show advertisements when not logged in within the posts. But when you log in, they disappear.

Just change your view thread settings to "linear - show newest first"; and the adds sink to the bottom of the screen and don't bother you. You will just have to get used to the posts being most recent on top and #1 at the bottom.

I actually prefer it that, way as I do not have to scroll through 3 pages of post to see whats goin on most recently.

Adds are part of life get over it...what are you gonna do when they start "piping adds into your dreams!!"??? LOL

I think Kettxxx has the right idea but there is a problem with that> We would just be having more people logging into the site only to do the same nonsense without posting or saying anything or trying to help the community of this website out. If they want the ads gone then they should be required to be approved as at least a semi noteworthy user with say 3 Legitimate thank yous from different people. Mods should be able to regulate this hopefully
