I just put together a computer for the first time and the computer runs beautifully.

Antec P150 case
ECS 945P-A motherboard
Pentium D 920
2 Gigs memory
Nividia 6700 GT video card
160 Gig SATA drive

I am very happy with my computer, however, 2 little parts are not working.:( The front panel headphone and mic are not working.

I have tried:

-using the 10 pin connector

-hooking up the wires individually in various combinations

-used Realtek drivers from mother board CD

-removed windows XP update drivers

-installed updated drivers from Realtek

Then I contacted Realtek and Antec.

RealTek says "front panel connections must be High Definition, check with case manufacturer"

Case Manufacturer Antec says "none of our cases have High Definition audio"

note:

- have checked my BIOS and Audio is enabled

- the rear panel audio jacks work perfectly

What can I do to fix this?

Can I buy High Definition cables to replace mine?

thanks for any help you can provide

ya, I thought that they were BSing me.

I have spent more than 8 hours on this already, and have tried several combinations on the wires. I need to sleep on this.

i have the same problem
i updated my BIOS and it suddenly does not work.
i never touched anything inside the computer.
same as the above, audio works perfectly ony the front side audio is dead
, the USB next to it works just fine tough. i cannot find the audio settings
or hardware anywere at all. can i flash my bios back to it's old state or is that possible pc murder?
the only think we have in common however is that i have a 160 gig sataII.
for the rest the machines are completly different
