Just changed M/B to Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro 2, new HDD installed. XP Pro, Athlon XP2800 Barton Retail boxed. Have been reading some threads but cannot figure out how to get correct clock speed for CPU. On boot-up it reads 1254mhz, installed Easytune 4 but options for CPU are greyed - out. Uninstalled and changed to Easytune 5, this is even worse! Gigabyte site says this CPU is fully supported so why does Easytune not allow multiplier changing and how can I get my correct CPU clock speed back? (until last night it was quite happy to pose as XP3200 on a £20 PCchips board!)

    Regards, Coxy.

    ALL HAIL GIGABYTE! (y/r)

it is running on 333FBS, thus pc2700 ram should do. (166MHZ)
    real mhz is 2083MHz

    then we devide: 2083MHz/166MHZ = 12.5
    that's your clock multiplier.

    FBS: 166MHZ
    clock: 12.5

As to why it won't detect it, I don't know, but perhaps it's a bit malfunctioning?

1 last thing, install sandra sisoft, and check if it is in fact a barton,
if it got 128K L1 and 512K L2 cache , and if it is running on 1.65v,
but I believe it will be.
Also see if sisoft find any faults with your mobo.

here is a site that tests XP's 2800/3000, perhaps you can find some info there.

Advanced Options in your BIOS can be accessed by pressing Cntrl+F1 on the main screen may give you some extra options
