[FS] 1GB PC3200 CL 2.5 [UK Buyers]

hey guys, i recently bought some ram 1gb pc3200 DDR 400MHz, but it does not work on my mobo as i have cl3 ram allrady in there, this ram is cl2.5 for desktop pcs, manufacture is NCP.

note than i am not able to provide any pictures yet as my camera is broke .

if anyone is interested let me know.

i originally paid £40 for it, i am not looking to make a profit, i can sell it for as little as £28 in postage to the UK ONLY.

or any other offer if you guys think its too much.

wait, remind me what CL is? Cas Latency? IF so, you can use that ram, just change the timings on it.

Yeah man, you should be able to mix the two RAM sticks together, it just wont OC as well.

i dont think my board works well with cl2.5, i tried doing it by just having the new 1 stick in, and the monitor did not tuirn on, ma friends have had the same problem with cl2.5 ram and they have the same mobo, but i didnt no it was cl 2.5 until i bought it

Maybe both sticks need to be high density to run properly in dual channel. Have you loaded optimized defaults after installing the new stick?

yes i have tried that but no luck, i just think its the ecc, the ram i have now are ecc thats what the problems is i would of thought.

yeah, ECC and Non-ECC wont work well together.

Ive done a lot of reading on that, and "apparently" the high density RAM are basically factory seconds that dont work well with many chipsets. The RAM will either not boot up at all OR if you buy 1GB, it will think its only 512mb.

Its not the actual RAM thats at fault; its meant to be what it is. It just really doesnt work with many chipsets at all.

If they didnt specifically state that it has compatiability issues with many motherboards, then TAKE IT BACK.

You have the right to know that high density ram isnt good. If you look at all ebay listings, all the ones with "high density" specifically state they have compatibility issues and make you check your chipset to see if it works.
