I'm planning to upgrade to a C2D. I've seen some good clocks on the Asus P5B. Has anyone gone beyond the 1066MHz limit? Thats one of my only concern when it comes to overclocking. I know that going past the fsb can lead to data corruption and stuff. I'd like to get your input on this.

Why not get a P35 or P38 chipset?

Well my FSB is at 1333 at the moment, which gives me an overclock from 2.13GHz to 2.67GHz with my E6420 Core2Duo :rockout:

As long as your Northbridge is kept cool I think you will be ok to raise the FSB on that motherboard ;)

My E6600 on my Asus P5N- Sli runs at 1800FSB stable, there are plenty of boards now that will run well in excess of 1333FSB, it's down to what hardware you need and are going to use on the board, I got this one because it supports 2 IDE drives (as well as SATA2) and gives me the SLi option for the future....Ohhhh and it's pretty cheap :D

Ok, I have 2 reasonably priced/high performance boards, the Gigabyte DS3 and the EVGA 680i. Both clock well past 1333. The EVGA is a better board IMHO, but the DS3 is the best value OC'ing board for CD2.
