This is in my opinion a bit hard to answer on. I mean, if I don't like a game then I would simply stop playing it. I've never played a game that makes me angry or irritated enough to actually wish the developers won't continue on the game series.

However, I wish Treyarch won't make any more Call of Duty games.

I wish they would stop making WoW games, they are evil and make people emo..for the most part. (IMO!)

Mortal Kombat. They should have stopped after the second one.

I'm going to suppose this thread is a spin-off of the one Polarman made and I'm going to interprete it as I want, that is: sequels you think never had to be made.

I 'd have wanted EA never did NFS:Underground, actually ANY NFS game after NFS:porsche, because all of them are based on underground to some extent.

COD3 and 4. probably 5 too, haven't tried it yet.

Rainbow Six series after Raven Shield.

    Postal 2

EDIT: I'm playing Farcry 2 right now (20% completed) and it's a good candidate. Bad, bad, it's not bad, it's boring and repetitive though, but I'm hoping it will get better as it goes. Anyway with what I have seen so far it's enough to say it's not the successor that Farcry deserved. Still a candidate.

You have to understand this is an opinion. It's because for me it's not a worthy succesor to the series. For me it lowered the bar for what I want an FPS to be:

1 - Immersion. Where COD1 and 2 made you think you were in the middle of a war, COD4 failed.

2 - Where COD1 and 2 weapons were so cool and amazing to shoot, COD4 ones were easy and overpowered making COD4 campaing just a point and click game.

3 - COD4 was a console game for the most part, which was obvious by what I said in 2 and how the enemies reacted, easy to kill.

4 - Half the gaming time is spent in stupid gimmick missions, scripted to make things even worse, like the one on the gunner plane and the sniper one. Not that the one on the boat is better.

5 - Plot? What plot? Oh yeah, patriotism is so cool it's a plot by itself... :banghead:

As I said it's my opinion. I really hope never ever anyone tries to make their game following COD4's standards.

Point 1, I don't get, most of the missions were very immersive to me.
Point 2 is for SURE, the weapons were a bit overpowered, I never once swapped out for an enemy weapon, no need.
Point 3, is hit and miss, most of the time the enemies were quite smart but sometimes they just try to get you with numbers.
Point 4, I disagree with I loved those two missions and wished there were more of them.
Point 5. Well, John Carmack said that a game is like a porno, a story is great, but not necessary. They took that to heart in COD4 lol.

Are you arguing to my opinions? I was asked why I didn't like COD4 and delivered my opinion.

This thread is not about if XXXX game is good or not. It's about which games you wish didn't had a continuation. COD2 is one for me. Your argumentations are out of place.

Not at all, just discussing the game and the reason you think that it didn't deserve a sequel, that is all. Twice now you have been quite rude over my posts, is there some reason for your hostility to me?

First of all I didn't like COD MP, that's why I don't play it. Anyway I buy most games for the single player. My brother and father take most of the bandwidth when I have the time to play, and when I can, I like TF2 and CSS so much that I don't care about any other one. Maybe UT3 or Crysis.

Anyway, I like the SP experience of good games much more than the MP, which for me is just for time passing. Do you feel bad for the people who buy DVD or BDs right now, or the ones that go to the cinema? They get 1,5 hours of experience, I like to get 8 hours of immersion in games.

It doesn't matter what game you liked guys, that's not being asked here. I didn't like it. That won't change.

The shorter way of explaining it would be to say that I'm Spanish. I'm not being rude towards you, we simply talk in a different manner and sorry but I sincerely fail to see were I was rude there.

DarkMatter, if you find the SP too short..play it at Veteran difficulty, it'll give you more of a challenge.

Side Note: WoW is still evil! :rockout:

OHHH! Language barrier there, I am sorry, I didn't realize. makes sense now :toast:. I just like talking things to death, figuring out people's opinions.

Just though of one they should have stopped. Street Fighter. After 2, it just went down hill.

too many releases may i ask?

Well they could of just stuck with the Megaman and Megaman X storyline i guess (Which includes Zero and ZX series), but i guess that is what their selling point is other than streetfighter, and most like Platformers vs Fighting games anyway.
