To better meet the different needs of enthusiasts, the GECUBE HD 4800 series is available in two models, the HD 4850 and HD 4870. The GECUBE HD 4870 in particular, is the heavyweight of AMD's new HD 4800 series. This premium graphics card is equipped with the ATI Radeon RV770XT (55nm) core and the exclusive GDDR5 512 MB high-speed memory. This potent combination allows the GECUBE HD 4870 to achieve core and memory frequencies of 750 MHz/3.6 GHz, providing gamers with the extreme levels of performance they expect from the new generation of graphics technology. The new generation GECUBE HD 4870 graphics cards even make use of the latest TeraScale engine, so the stream process can run at speeds as high as 800 MHz. Inclusion of the PCI-Express 2.0 interface also allows support for the latest DirectX10.1/SM4.1, ATI CrossFireX technologies and 24X Anti-Aliasing (AA), to deliver the best high definition gaming experience. The GECUBE HD 4870 not only delivers ultra-realistic, high-definition video but also takes the art of video rendering to new heights.

The GECUBE HD 4870 series also comes with built-in HDCP/HDMI and upgraded 7.1 channel surround sound technology, along with support for the latest UVD 2 (Unified Video Decoder 2) and Blu-ray/HD-DVD (with Dual-Stream and Picture-in-Picture (PIP)) features. Detailed image technology provides users with more vivid image quality. With the all new GDDR5 memory matched to the ultimate in audio-visual playback technology, the GECUBE HD 4870 not only delivers ultra-realistic high-definition video but also takes the art of video rendering to new heights.

2nd generation 55nm cores are used in all GECUBE HD 4800 series graphics cards. This not only offers a boost to performance across the board but also allows the GECUBE HD 4800 series to introduce the next generation TeraScale engine. When combined with ATI CrossFireX and DirectX10.1 technology, the graphics card can continue delivering optimum performance of high-resolution imagery, even when processing massive amounts of gaming graphics. The GECUBE HD 4870 series includes the latest DirectX 10.1 technology. It offers 32-bit floating point filtering support and breaks new ground in illumination quality, with the use of Global Illumination technology, and High Dynamic Range (HDR) illumination, which are also boosted. The addition of Geometry Shader technology in particular, accelerates the processing of 3D effects such as bump mapping. Graphics data can now be cycled within the graphics card itself, greatly improving the realism of particles and shadows. DX10.1 includes Shader Model 4.1 image optimization technology, as well as the upgraded, all-new, 7.1 channel surround sound and the ATI Avivo HD Video graphics technology designed for HDTV and HD Video aficionados. These allow the GECUBE HD 4870 series to present the best audio-visual and 3D gaming results. For all the hyperbole, I dont see any difference between these 4850 and 4870 and other manufacturers versions.

well no there really isnt much difference yet, save for maybe clock specs if that. They are just grandstanding the release of the HD 4870 series. Judging from all the fluff, if you cut that stuff out, this thing is a brick house. Integrated HDMI/HDCP support with 7.1channel surround. UVD2 is a big thing, if they successfully succeeded in the shortcomings with cable card support. All in all, for the price, this is one bad ass mother freaking card!
