Actually, the PSU is fine. I have a feeling it's the substandard power delivery on your motherboard giving you the issues. The mobo just isn't very good unfortunately. :(

I'm sorry, but that just isn't very true at all.

erocker: my mobo is Asus P5KR.

it has a huge voltage drop too :(.

so u mean most likely the mobo problem?? but i didnt have this problem with my old GTS 250.

so a gtx 460 would make that much of difference?

in a way it is. x650 psu are amazing. go read jonnyguru review on his website about seasonic x psu's. but then again it could be his motherboard causing him problems in which case he should get a gigabyte p45 ud3p

I know JohnnyGuru. I'm saying I've had more power hungry systems with less of a PSU. His PSU is fine... More than enough.

I had a feeling if he has to lower one overclock to further a different one, to me it has to do with power/power delivery, or the motherboard playing silly buggers.

im just wondering how can a gtx 460 can make that much of difference. because i never had these issues with the heavy clocked GTS 250.

Mavvs, got a mates system you can try the card in? see what you can get out of her in another PC and you might get some clues as to what might be holding her back.

Depends on the benchmark but it doesn't sound that bad to me. For now I would just work with what you have until you can get a different motherboard. Make sure the next motherboard you get has an 8 pin CPU connector.

erocker: my current mobo has 6pin power connector, but my PSU has 8pin. so i use the 8pin for the power on the mobo. the 2 extra pins are spared out. not in use.

nvidiaintelftw: i use the official (non beta) latest driver downloaded from Nvidia site.

6 pin CPU power? wha?? I thought it was either 4 pin or 8 pin, erocker can settle this.

EDIT: in fact no I'm pretty sure it is either 4 pin or 8 pin....

6pin?! Are you sure it's not 4 pin. I've never heard of a 6 pin CPU mobo connector.

erocker: i used the similar settings and benchmark as this guy here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQNLLkazkxM&feature=related

and i am getting 6 or 7fps less than him.

but how come other reviews show that a gtx 460 can get like 50 or 60fps in Just Cause 2?

do they use fraps to test in game performance or the built-in benchmarks?

its strange.

I agree.

Mavvs, he has an i7 930 overclocked to around 4Ghz, that should come to no supirise at all that his system is running that benchmark better. just because you have the same video card as the guy in that video, doesn't mean the performance will be the same.
