I picked up 2 AMD 1.8Ghz Durons off the street corner, both in working condition, both with working hardware

1.8Ghz~ 512Mb PC133 SD-Ram 40Gb, Hard drive, 32X 'Creative' CD-Rom

fixed them up some some left over hardware & begged for some parts off fellow TPU members n used the free parts that was given and donated both machines to a childrens nursery.

It happens..........not often, but crazy shit like that does happen :D How much were they worth at the time?

Not a whole lot, i actually got it for free from a member here back in '08 or early '09.:rockout:

They're not worth a whole lot these days... if it were '06/early '07, i'd be diving into every trash can in the neighborhood to find it.

stuff like RAM and hard drives are always re-usable

Aye, and often the whole computer. They might use uncommon standards (flex atx for instance) and crippled BIOS'es, but the components are the same as in anything else.

See i'm not the only one who got some good stuff ;) What is even easier to find is old screens. Some of them were costing 300$ for a 17" at that time and now we get them for free.

That doesn't really say anything. It's like all those ads saying "I bought this laptop for $1500 6 years ago and i've taken good care of it so I want at least $1200 for it!11!!!"
