thanks, but the only problem with that list is that the only PC game on it is mechwarrior 4.
(or its expansion pack, to be more precise)

all other games are either PS2 or xbox. i have neither.

There are good PS1 emulators. Though Xbox and PS2 is still a no go. Same goes for gamecube btw.

    PC

    Mechwarrior 2/3/4
    StarSeige 1/2/3
    HeavyGear 1/2

    PS2
    Armor Core series
    Front Mission /turn base game

There not really that many mecha games for computer that I know of. Though I know there are few more. Just cann't remember them.

    Starsiege not a bad series
Heavygear first game based off mechwarroir game engine like it better the 2
Heavygear 2 plays for to the tabletop game.

Have like win95 or win98 when playering Starsiege and Heavygear.

I know you said no mech4 but have you tried MekTeks Mech Pack 3 add on for MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries? adds on alot of cool stuff for the game, new mechs, maps and weapons pretty neat stuff.

There is an older series called EarthSeige 1/2

I cannot remember which one I tried but I remember it was hard to control and I gave up. It was like you needed one person to control from the waist up and another to control from the waist down. So maybe it was multiplayer - who knows :)

Something is nagging me that I might be confusing EarthSeige with another similar mecha based game... either way its another option for ya.

also anyone interested in code writing for an upcoming mecha-style game should look at mechanexus. it's being developed by Clancore Design Group, .LLC as an indie mod on the torque game engine (TGE) if you could look go to www.clancorenetwork.com for more info (check the forums)
