    GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY Co. Ltd., a leading manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards, today announced official support for soon to launch 4th Gen Intel Core Processors and select unlocked 4th Gen Intel Core Processors.

    Wait, I thought Haswell was 4th gen. :confused:

    They have 0 competition.

    The Q87 is business orientated chipset

    I guess that they are talking about new Haswells with extra clock bonus

    I thought +100 MHz adding doesn't need BIOS update.

    but the current haswels are 4th gen and the upcoming intel cpus will be broad well so 8 series mother board are built for 4th gen processors so whats special in this?

    I think so but:

    "Haswell Refresh will likely be supported on current motherboards, perhaps through a BIOS update; when it comes to Broadwell though, the new line may require new Z97/H97 motherboards, despite using the same socket, due to different power specifications."

    btw intel ceo/rep said Broadwell will be compatible with existing systems and brand new systems aka z97, so there is that. ;)
