    Hello all,

for the sake of my knowledge, since it has been a question raised from a friend.

Just wondering about the Gigabyte G.1 Sniper 5 motherboard and USB powered headset. In Particular Creative Tactic3D Rage USB headset.

The g.1 sniper 5 has a creative core3d audio chipset and an OP-AMP. The Creative Tactic3D headset is USB powered. Which port the headset should be connected. I know that it will be thru USB but would like to utilize of course the motherboard's onboard audio chipset.

This same goes to any USB powered headset. But since it is Creative headset, and motherboard has a creative chipset, theoretically, it should be a perfect match. ^_^

Would like to ask your opinions please.

    Thank you very much

if its USB, its USB. it doesnt use the soundcard.

if its USB powered but has 3.5mm jacks, then connect it to the soundcard as normal.

    Thanks mussels,

so youre saying that its not a good idea to have a USB powered headset for the motherboard?

the g.1 sniper has integrated audio chipset. not a pci sound card.

if you're getting a USB headset, that means its a USB soundcard as well.
