After reading all the "new" features, i was not surprised, instead i thought they were going to modify the card and not downgrading it from 4300 (as promised) to 4290. Anyway i am waiting for this new chipset in order to buy the new desktop. Is it a good move?
So the specifications of the desktop i want will be:
    Motherboard: 890GX/850SB
    CPU: Phenom II 555 be
    Ram: 1x4 Gb 1600
HDD: 1 Tb WD Black CAVIAR
    Case: doesn't matter!
    Graphic card: N/A (for now)
I hope you give me new ideas about this build and waiting for this chipset is a good idea! :respect:

Well the pci-e 3.0 was a dissapointment too, cuz they promissed it. Anyway it has no need for it cuz it has only 2 pci e slots. I think that pci - e 3.0 should be used in the msi 890 fx mobo which has 6 slots.

After a nice stint with HD 3000 / 3100 / 3200 / 3300 / 4200... they're thinking of calling it the HD 4290 instead of the obviously simple 4300? REALLY!? Gigabyte better have an error in their spec sheet.

Any hoo, the 800-series bring features that I'm waiting for, don't know if they're what you're after.

    + 6-core support
    + SB850: 6Gb/s and FIS PM
