Giveaway: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

One hand sword and shield mercenary. I would like to be mercenary in Medieval. Because mercenaries always can find job for adventure. The dark times doesn't matter, if you have a sword, shield and chain armor. If we start from childhood, my parents are totally blacksmith. Not my mother I guess. Beacuase she is busy with taking care my brothers at home. Merek, Carac and Ulric. My brothers name in Medieval times. One of them, Carac is died a while ago, because plague. We burn his dead body instead of lay. His ashes still in my room with urn.

Anyway, I wanna be mercenary captain in future. And to be captain I'm going to adventures with my shieldbrothers always. If I die in a battle, this will be glorious thing in my life.

Unfortunately I cannot enter due to region or country limitation, but I still recommend the game. I play the first and second Witcher and as a devout RPG fan I like it very much. And I would recommend to buy and read the books. It is a great literature.


As for the life in middle or rather ancient ages, there are two ways I always have in mind:

※Blacksmith
Capable of forging raw materials to weapons, armors and tools, +2 to Strength and Stamina, can wear every type of armors and +50 to extra inventory but take up to -15 penalty to travelling speed depending on armor type, gain natural +10% resistance to Fire and +15% resistance to physical damage per level, up to +30%, due to profession, but will consume twice the amount of food or drink to heal and restore Life and Stamina Point. A Japanese blacksmith is also capable of making several types of ranged weapons, including tanegashima, which can be very helpful in defeating bandits from a distance and save one's soul from dealing with dangerous close combat situation and horrible body odor, although the sound it produces will awake the entire village population during the night and may attract more dangerous bandits and angry housewives than necessary.

※Monk
Capable of healing and restoration skills, gain +15 bonus to Spirit, Wisdom and Perception near temples, monasteries and churches, can only wear Cloth and Light Leather armor type, +5 travelling speed per level up to +25, get a free Light Healing from shrines once every 12 hours and Moderate Healing once a day, +10% experience gain per level up to +35% but limited to Staff and Ranged weapons. The Agent of Heavens trait will grant Words of Wisdom skill, which can be used to preach annoying bandits to the level of frustration in which they become bored to death and kill themselves, saving the priest from committing unnecessary murders using his staff or ranged weapons.

From what I read from the book and the game, Triss Merigold is not what was described as the lover of Geralt from his lost memories. Triss nursed Geralt back to health after he was hunted but she was not the lover of Geralt. Yennever was and always be lover of Geralt. It was mentioned or discussed for a brief moment in Witcher 2. Triss knew this all along and tried to help Geralt with his lost memories. Geralt always wanted to find out the truth about "the hunt" and the woman he loved in the past. Yennever was the one, and Witcher 3 will be a conclusion to what happened to the life of Geralt, including his lost memories in which Yennever became the one woman he loved and wanted to be with. That is why in the certain part of the trailers, Geralt is shown tracking and pursuing her. It is the same reason why Geralt did not pursue the romance path with Triss in Witcher 2 despite all the adult scenes.

The biggest puzzle is, what kind of choices will carry on to the third game from the second one.

Like Witcher 1 -> 2, I suspect not much. Saskia, Tancarville, and who controls the region is probably all that will carry over either in dialog or in plot. Everything else seems pretty well scripted. I'm most excited for where the Saskia story goes but at the same time, I'm pretty sure I'll be disappointed how little of an impact it has in Witcher 3.

Oh, I forgot about Letho. Yeah, he should weigh in too but I doubt it would be to much extent. Basically the choices that could carry over:

You forgot that prick prince Stennis(I hope you kept the P also here)/Henselt/all mages - Deathmold, Sīle, Phillipa and even Loredo and etc peps... and existence of Conclave and the Lodge ie mage bromance.

But really in Nilfgaard(Milf) only Letho should be present as he also went there, as he wanted to reestablish the school of Vipers and the King promised him that. And he told of those two other witchers in the south that are also seen in the trailers. Otherwise I completely think the political strength of the north ie ruler count and how they split the north is irrelevant... Saskia may only enter as a Dragon or actually you may meet his Grandpa again, and some dialogue options may differ from that...
Thirds... we may cheat and pick up the damn book.

You forgot that prick prince Stennis(I hope you kept the P also here)/Henselt/all mages - Deathmold, Sīle, Phillipa and even Loredo and etc peps... and existence of Conclave and the Lodge ie mage bromance.

Stennis might be one line of dialog but that's it; he's unimportant. Henselt is alive and continues to rule Kaedwen; the only difference is whether or not he also controls Aedirn. Dethmold is dead. Already mentioned Sile de Tansarville. Phillipa is alive but blind (obviously hates Radovid/Nilfgard for that).

Conclave/Lodge I suspect ends up like the Council in ME2/ME3. The only difference in saving the council is the ability to get your Spectre status restored and that's not very useful. Like both Witcher 1 and 2, Triss is the closest thing to them that actually carries weight.
