I have two extra codes for Malwarebytes that I am giving away for free.

Ends Thursday February 7th at 11pm EST.

Must have made an account on or before January 10th 2013 and have at least 50 posts.

Winners will be selected at random with a random roll 1-however many entries there are in World of Warcraft, so I will /roll 1-45 if there are 45 entries, I will do that twice, and go in order, so if it lands on 25 the 25th post wins, etc.

    SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

I am trying to raise awareness for Aaron Swartz, so post in this thread that you have read my post about Aaron Swartz here: (I will take your word for it)

It seems kind of ironic giving out security software while trying to raise awareness of the most famous hacker of our time:laugh:

Anyhow, I read your post so count me in.
    Phusius says thanks.

I have watched all his Youtube interviews and he did not deserve the punishment he was going to receive. I think he deserves some awareness is all, and who doesn't want a life time sub to Malwarebytes? :)

RIP Aaron Swartz. only 26 years of age and achieved so much before his untimely death.

It always saddens me when someone feels their only way out is by suicide (Muslim radicals/extremists not included for obvious reasons)

the world has lost such a talented individual - not that he fucking cured cancer or nothing but still very talented none the less. Better then a lotta you mofo's out there sittin on your ass playing warcraft and eating week old pizza.

Carmen Ortiz needs to be removed.
    Phusius says thanks.

Count me in, as I had already read your post on this subject. Its a damn shame, as you mentioned, that many rapist, murderers, and drug dealers get a ton less time.

Its such a shame that it caused a 26 year old, barely knowing life, to commit suicide!!!

    RIP Aaron!

Charges against him were ridiculous, my understanding is that a politician basically used his case as a way to enhance her career. Lost someone that cared deeply about an open and free internet, very sad.

    Thanks for the contest

Already familiar with the issue, since I'm partial to Anon ideals/cause (most of the time).
I'm not a US resident, but I have gotten some US friends and acquaintances to sign the petition in my stead.

Can I has MBAM sub?

Count me in. I have a friend who did a pencil drawing in honor of him, maybe he'll let me take a pic of it and add it to this thread.

I'm not sure if he was the "first" to put up the red flag, but I learned about SOPA via Aaron....

his answer to the situation though should never be the answer for anyone :( Very sad.

If I were facing 35 years in prison I would consider it.

Hackers will not forget, and if the White House does not reprimand Carmen Ortiz it will be all out war, constant harassing by hackers.

^ It's a shame hackers can do little more then DDoS attacks, otherwise this threat might actually have some oomph behind it. /shrug

Count me as well. I haven't actually been using any antivirus for almost a year now, just remembered that.

Read your thread and his wiki and some stuff. Hadn't heard about this before, its a real shame. This whole fricking world is screwed up so bad.

I agree... He could have still done a lot even though he was in prison... Ending your life is never an answer... Just my 2 cents...

    Count me in! :)

    Thanks for the giveaway! :toast:
