What do you think about this card specifically and it's gaming possibility?

Is it overkill for my setup under avatar?

The GTX 650 is a fine card but it really depends on what your budget is and what you are comparing it with. If looking to improve performance from that Asus EN8600GT/HTDP/512M listed in your specs, the , the GTX 650 will run circles around it. But do note the GTX 650 is bit more power hungry and the Enermax 420W is not knows for having a decent or flat efficiency rating.

its going to be useless at anything above 720p

Its kind of pointless unless you got a really good deal. A GTX760 would be better as you can move it to a new build when the time comes. As far as gaming its in the low range

Except Nvidia list it as supporting the PCI-e 3.0 and 2.0 Bus.

Old and low end, don't bother. Do buy NVIDIA though.

Sorry I don't have time now to look into alternatives right now. Perhaps the GTX 750 Ti or its replacement will be a good choice.

I just looked and you are right, the GTX750 is the only NVIDIA option under $100. Unless you want to look at older/faster used cards on eBay which I would not recommend. But that works for some people.

That card would fit your setup but it's only good for basic gaming. It would be fine for games like dota2, diablo or civ 5. But modern demanding games will run badly on it. Still, it is much faster than what you have now.

Are you considering buying this new or used? For how much?
