Good HDD low level format program ...

    I found UBCD to have everything needed as well. Just download and write it to disc. Boot in DOS.

    Never used Solaris' recomendations, but it still was probably nuff said...lol

    thnx for the confidence sneeky...glad im that respected as for what sneeky said ubcd is an amazing tool and whant to know whats more amazing?...deriks boot and nuke (DBAN) is on that disc :)


    as for what dban is let me explain it would destroy everything on an hdd....it also comes with certain levels like wright zeros or other options different format levels...us gov..approved canadian govt apporived etc...

    I just used SEATOOLS and the MBR TOOL on mine ...just had to do it recently....Didnt even look for yours.

    no you dont understand...dban got awards because the govt used it to wipe "their:" harddrives.

    Oh, I understand quite well, that the goverment is not going to give you a way to completly remove History files from your hard drive. Just because they use it doesn't mean it's going to erase everything they need, why do you think they still confiscate computers??

    It erases the history. They're just able to recreate the data on the hard drive thru multiple layers of over-writes. The only way to truly wipe all data from a magnetic storage medium, is to burn it.
