Anyone recommend me some good motherboards for around $120?

I was looking at the GIGABYTE Gaming 3 or UD3 though i can't really see any differences between them.

they a good choice or is there a better one at that price range?

I would have a look at the ASRock offerings, just had a quick look and don't seem to be much difference with any of them.

Personally i would opt for a ASRock one as their support has been top notch for me.

gaming, though i encode videos sometimes too.

i also liked the whole dual bios thing gigabyte has which was making me lean toward them since i didn't see any other boards with that.

Looking at some ASRock boards (i just noticed your name.... Do you work for them?) they seem great too.

the ASRock Z170 Extreme3 seems comparable to the gaming 3 one.

I have a ASUS P5QSE2. It have run +4.5 years non-stop. Great MB. I noticed that some tried to get more info from you but I guess it is the same as when my mom ask me - I want t a good car for $ xx.xxx. What do you suggest?. If you level of PC hardware knowledge is as my mother's car ditto then just say so and you will get tons of suggestions and it will leave you even more confused. So...a little bit of info is needed.

Z170 Extreme4 does have dual bios i believe in fact all of them might have it, best way would be to ask them and would not be surprised if they replied pretty promptly.

And no my name has nothing to do with ASRock of any company. It was thought of during Diablo 2 as a naming scheme, As being the actual name and Rock being the char name.

yeah i was looking into it, they seem to have some sort of backup where it will boot to a bios on a usb you make or something. Not as nifty as what gigabyte claims to have but just having a backup is fine with me.

How are asrock boards with overclocking cpus? I tried googling for reviews of the ASRock Z170 EXTREME 3 but no one seems to have made any.

Well if any thing like how it it is on my Z77 it copy's it before replacing it, had no issue's with my X68 or Z77 motherboards and bios's have always worked.

You will have to check reviews for overclocking.

I've got a few of the older z77 boards with UEFI and there are heaps of options for overclocking in the BIOS.
You can also let it overclock itself if you let the app do that.

So Ive bought a bunch of ASRock, Gigabyte and MSI boards. The build quality of the Gigabyte board is top notch, boards are straight and thick, they work good. Not a fan of the bios. ASRock boards work well, overclock well but don't look as good, some sloppy soldering, some times Ive had issues wit the network adapters but over all good running boards. MSI also no issues, run good. mostly have bought there cheaper boards so no overclocking.

Alright

So i'm looking at either the ASRock Z170 Extreme3 or Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 3

unless someone has a better one for around the same price.
